40th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY OF MY PARENTS

I am proud to show you some part of a very personal photoshoot,

the 40th Wedding Anniversary of my Parents.

I had the honor to photograph many Couples on their Wedding Anniversaries, from the very 1st all the way to the 50th. Each time it was different, sometimes it was a photo session of the Two of Them, sometimes it was a Surprise Wedding Anniversary for Her (yeah, all prepared by Him) or as a Surprise to all attending Guests (yeah, they were told it is a Birthday Party), but quite often it looked like a second Wedding, with a Wedding Dress, flowers, guests, venue rental with dinner, music, and an Official in order to renew the vowes. Therefore this contagious happiness, tears of joy and celebration of LOVE brought me finally into an idea of doing it for my own Parents!

It was the longest planned photoshoot in my life! Why? Because I know what kind of props my Parents still own from their Wedding and I wanted to use it all in order to bring back some memories but also to recreate a Wedding photograph they took in a studio (but this will be in another post).  So don’t ask how many dusty boxes we had to open to find it all. I also created some props myself.

Real props used (for a photo session part two) from a Wedding Day:

Wedding Rings, an Engagement Ring, a Wedding Invitation, a crystal carafe (wedding gift), and a few Wedding pictures from a studio.

Props made or founded by me:

The gold champagne bottle, flowers (I recreated Wedding Bouquet), the suitcase with pictures, books and a wall calendar from the year they said ‘I do!’, a basket with fruits and strawberries, big ball, little fireworks and smoke flares.

What went wrong?

In a field, we were surrounded by hundreds of mosquitos. That is why we did not take many planned pictures… so we had to finish the photo session in the garden. It was chaotic, you can’t imagine! Dad wasn’t thrilled 😉 Haha!

Facts:

This is a second part of the photo session, the first part was taken in By Niki Photography Studio, where I recreated Wedding photographs taken 40 years earlier.

We did it a few months after the actual Wedding Anniversary day.

 

I encourage you to gift your Parents / Grandparents with such a priceless photo session. Already married? Great, plan it to yourself!

Trust me this is worth the effort and so much fun, look at my Dad with smoke flare! Ha ha! 😉

 

This is absolutely the best Family Souvenir we have.

Bridal Portraits

Bridal Portraits is an absolute MUST HAVE in my photography dictionary. After looking at all of those images above, don’t you agree? There are two methods of doing that kind of sessions, the most popular is Bridal Portrait Session planned days or even months ahead of a Wedding Day. Later on, most of Brides decide on having printed canvas, photo album or a slight show during Wedding Day as a surprise for guests and Husband. Advantages are endless for this photography sessions from testing wedding makeup, hairstyle, fitting dress and having pictures taken in a beautiful location of your choice etc.

Therefore I introduced long time ago Bridal Portraits for all destination Weddings, taken on a Wedding Day. I believe each Bride deserves having that kind of pictures. That is why I try to generate (sometimes even I beg!) for 20 up to 30 minutes with Bride and Groom only, on a Wedding Day. In a meantime, I shoot my Couple together as well Bride and Groom separately. We do it before or after the Ceremony. However my focus remains mostly on a Bride, don’t blame me, please!

In Bridal Portraits taken above, we had approximately mentioned time-frame for pictures to take. Straight after Ceremony, we rushed to the nearest park. And those are the results. HALDI Pre-Wedding Ceremony, New Delhi, India

Pre-Wedding Haldi Ceremony in India next to few Hindu Weddings I photographed back in the U.S.A. is absolutely different ambiance, especially when it comes to decorations. However, first let me explain a little bit what is Haldi Ceremony all about and why Groom to be is covered with a yellow mixture.

The Haldi Ceremony is the one in which mixed paste of turmeric with sandalwood powder and milk or rose-water is applied to the bride and the groom’s body before their Wedding. It is done to add the glow, to make their skin shine. Its color ushers in a life of prosperity for the couple, who are starting off their new life together.

Application of the paste marks an auspicious start to a new life together with a pure heart and soul. Actually, family members told me “We make Him beautiful for a Bride!”.

This ceremony was also accompanied by traditional songs and dances at times.

Now let’s take a closer look at amazing decor work done by Desinger Events Inc.

As you see I focused myself a lot on decorations, vivid in colors and the endless quantity of fresh flowers.

Can you smell it too? 😉

You have probably noticed a pink wall with so many shoes on, which actually was the wall of a bar.

It was a Jutti Bar made with 72 pairs of Juttis. Jutti is the traditional footwear of Punjab and both families being Punjabi wanted the decor to be everything Punjabi. The Bride loved to wear juttis. That is why the decoration Team put them on the bar – not one, not two but 144 of them!

Next Day was an actual Wedding Day, however, this deserves a space in another post.

The Moody Mansion Wedding, Galveston Island, Texas

 

I think part of them knew the second they saw each other that this would happen… It must be the inexplicable feeling that is coming along with it. And we call it LOVE.

Once upon a time a few Weddings ago Trisha and Charles said their “I dos” in this beautiful historic mansion in heart of Galveston Island, Texas. After my arrival at the Moody Mansion, I took Bride’s and Groom’s portraits first my favorite part I guess, later on, I photographed as well Bridesmaids and Groomsmen. After Ceremony Trisha and Charles literally got the Wings of Happiness and danced/flew away from the aisle. Since Wedding Venue is located few steps away from the beach, guests could change uncomfortable shoes and dance in black or white flip-flops.

FLOATING ANGEL

First post in 2017 should be a kick-ass so there it is! I want something new and unique with breath of freedom. This what you see is a combination of two different photo sessions. Here huge thanks go to patient Gocha! This is a real challenge to pose under water. In open sea we have few big obstacles: salty water (eyes and nose!), sand on the bottom, once touched it may ruin photo shoot spot for a while… and salty water pushes to the top. We could not achieve such an effect in swimming pool, of course it would be easier but while you have an access to the sea with reef you just go for it! Hills Have Eyes

This rugged landscape yet magical is located just literally steps away from the place where I happen to be right now. One evening I decided to go alone for a hike with my camera, tripod, accompanied by strong wind, emptiness around and a dust a lot of dust! And this is what we got.
