Surprise Engagement Proposal, Miami Beach, FL

Each time when someone asks me what do I like to photograph the most, my answer is everything from the Love Department. Those types of photo sessions bring happy tears to my Couple and my own vision is often blurry as well… haha do you know where can I make a complaint? 😉 More seriously, those are real and breathtaking emotions that’s why I am truly blessed and honored to capture it all.

This Surprisal Engagement Proposal took place in Miami Beach, FL. It was a unique session for me too, because the first time in my photography career I took with me to the beach my Mom and a friend of mine. They stayed away keeping a safe distance and recorded a backstage video.

Photo sessions like that require a lot of planning, where do I start?! But the funniest thing about it is the fact I have to become a quite convincing actress and lie at the beginning to the future Fiancée (sorry!)…

Are you planning to propose to your Girlfriend in front of a camera and have this awesome souvenir for many years to come? Let me know and we will plan it together, to the point she will need to say YES!

Congratulations to wonderful people Kasie (sorry for lying) and Caleb (thank you for the trust!)

I am so happy for both of you!

Happy #WorldOceansDay Miami!

40th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY OF MY PARENTS

I am proud to show you some part of a very personal photoshoot,

the 40th Wedding Anniversary of my Parents.

I had the honor to photograph many Couples on their Wedding Anniversaries, from the very 1st all the way to the 50th. Each time it was different, sometimes it was a photo session of the Two of Them, sometimes it was a Surprise Wedding Anniversary for Her (yeah, all prepared by Him) or as a Surprise to all attending Guests (yeah, they were told it is a Birthday Party), but quite often it looked like a second Wedding, with a Wedding Dress, flowers, guests, venue rental with dinner, music, and an Official in order to renew the vowes. Therefore this contagious happiness, tears of joy and celebration of LOVE brought me finally into an idea of doing it for my own Parents!

It was the longest planned photoshoot in my life! Why? Because I know what kind of props my Parents still own from their Wedding and I wanted to use it all in order to bring back some memories but also to recreate a Wedding photograph they took in a studio (but this will be in another post).  So don’t ask how many dusty boxes we had to open to find it all. I also created some props myself.

Real props used (for a photo session part two) from a Wedding Day:

Wedding Rings, an Engagement Ring, a Wedding Invitation, a crystal carafe (wedding gift), and a few Wedding pictures from a studio.

Props made or founded by me:

The gold champagne bottle, flowers (I recreated Wedding Bouquet), the suitcase with pictures, books and a wall calendar from the year they said ‘I do!’, a basket with fruits and strawberries, big ball, little fireworks and smoke flares.

What went wrong?

In a field, we were surrounded by hundreds of mosquitos. That is why we did not take many planned pictures… so we had to finish the photo session in the garden. It was chaotic, you can’t imagine! Dad wasn’t thrilled 😉 Haha!

Facts:

This is a second part of the photo session, the first part was taken in By Niki Photography Studio, where I recreated Wedding photographs taken 40 years earlier.

We did it a few months after the actual Wedding Anniversary day.

I encourage you to gift your Parents / Grandparents with such a priceless photo session. Already married? Great, plan it to yourself!

Trust me this is worth the effort and so much fun, look at my Dad with smoke flare! Ha ha! 😉

This is absolutely the best Family Souvenir we have.

Here you can see a First Wedding Anniversary of one lovely Couple, it is always such a LOVE Celebration and it doesn’t matter if this is a First or a 40th.

Above photographs were taken for the 1st Paper Wedding Anniversary with stunning couple Dana and Taylor.
It was actually a great idea for the photo session and an amazing occasion to wear a Wedding Dress again. However selected pictures don’t show it all, you just have to believe me.

Maternity Milk Bath

New Year New Beginnings for many of us out there… Some people are expecting a Baby Boy to come to this World, others are opening an online company, in a meantime somewhere in the North Pole one man is starting a new job in a high voltage sector, some of you are making plans for a Wedding with By Niki Photography or By Niki Photography Team, myself with a New Year I got my wings back and planning to expand with photography on a new markets however the dominant target is Florida.

But let’s come back to the main subject on this post! As you probably realized, I mostly post Weddings on my website. Meaning those photographs are somehow magical to me!

I had a great honor to photograph my Dear Friend Magda and I am beyond thankful for trusting me on this one! During first phone conversation we had, I was told I can decide on what kind of maternity session it will be… it took me a while and I almost shouted out to the phone “we have to do Milk Bath!” and you know what? She looks more beautiful than ever!

Milk Bath photo shoots are my real obsession recently… one thing is sure I won’t do the same session again! Each time it must be different, different colors, flowers or whatever I decide to soak in (top secret for the moment).

Winter is a great moment to do that! It is indoors, warm, relaxing and not many people I personally know took part in such a photo adventure. And if you happen to think about unique photo session, shoot me an email to by.niki@yahoo.com

No, you don’t need a bathtub at home!

Engagement, Miami Beach, Cam and Javon

Apparently pouring rain in Miami Beach, 20 minutes before our Engagement Photo Session had a great outcome, empty South Beach. I met this lovely Couple at Great Bridal Expo in downtown Miami, where I was one of the vendors with my Wedding Photography. I never met so many Future Brides and Grooms in one day! The atmosphere was amazing, Love was in the Air cause so many Couples were in love and everybody was planning a Wedding.

But let’s come back to the photo session above. Cam and Javon are absolutely lovely Couple. We had so much fun working together, especially when our prop – round ball decided to leave us. We all could not stop laughing! However Javon caught it 😉  Cam is also a Positive Influencer so make sure to check Her Instagram

By the way, can you imagine this is my first day at home/my real desk since the Expo? Guess what was I doing today? Unpacking two suitcases from the recent trip to Miami, unpacking one suitcase from Paris and Cape Verde and packing one suitcase for another 10 days travel! Leaving tomorrow again 😉

Station 3 Wedding, J’ai & Stephen

J’ai and Stephen get married in a historic fire station. However, very unique one. The city and state recognize Station 3 as a historic landmark. Built in 1903, Station 3 was one of Houston’s original fire stations and it is located directly outside of downtown.  The original bricks, wood floors, and intricate hand carved exterior stonework all add to its timeless beauty and charm.  The last thing to do was just to say “I do!”. I have to admit Stephen was right, I did not know either that happiness was spelled with three letters and an apostrophe 😉

HALDI Pre-Wedding Ceremony, New Delhi, India

Pre-Wedding Haldi Ceremony in India next to few Hindu Weddings I photographed back in the U.S.A. is absolutely different ambiance, especially when it comes to decorations. However, first let me explain a little bit what is Haldi Ceremony all about and why Groom to be is covered with a yellow mixture.
The Haldi Ceremony is the one in which mixed paste of turmeric with sandalwood powder and milk or rose-water is applied to the bride and the groom’s body before their Wedding. It is done to add the glow, to make their skin shine. Its color ushers in a life of prosperity for the couple, who are starting off their new life together.
Application of the paste marks an auspicious start to a new life together with a pure heart and soul. Actually, family members told me “We make Him beautiful for a Bride!”.
This ceremony was also accompanied by traditional songs and dances at times.
Now let’s take a closer look at amazing decor work done by Desinger Events Inc.
As you see I focused myself a lot on decorations, vivid in colors and the endless quantity of fresh flowers.
Can you smell it too? 😉
You have probably noticed a pink wall with so many shoes on, which actually was the wall of a bar.
It was a Jutti Bar made with 72 pairs of Juttis. Jutti is the traditional footwear of Punjab and both families being Punjabi wanted the decor to be everything Punjabi. The Bride loved to wear juttis. That is why the decoration Team put them on the bar – not one, not two but 144 of them!
Next Day was an actual Wedding Day, however, this deserves a space in another post.
Congratulations to Hardit and Geena!
Pre-Wedding Ceremony Location: Novotel Aerocity, New Delhi, India.
